Jim Shnell has extensive transactional experience with the legal and business aspects of the financing and development of energy and other major projects. His experience in this area includes negotiating and closing equity and debt financings for such projects, as well as the negotiation and documentation of the network of complex transactions that support such projects. Jim previously practiced with a widely recognized international law firm. He has also served as the General Counsel and Vice President for a privately held energy project development company.
Jim also has experience with mergers and acquisitions, having represented acquiring entities as well as selling entities in a variety of contexts. He has also represented companies in obtaining equity, debt and mezzanine financing, and at other times he has represented the investors or lenders in such transactions.
Jim has counseled companies with respect to corporate governance issues and the protection and licensing of intellectual property. He also has broad experience in representing clients with respect to contractual and other general business matters.
